Rauhnächte - sometimes spelled with an h, sometimes without - are an old heathen concept. They co-incide with the Christian "12 days of Christmas" (nice re-brand, Christianity!) and are full of powerful rituals from ancient Northern epic and myth: legend has it that during this time, the doors between the worlds aren't closed as they are for the rest of the year. Customs regarding the precise dates vary; technically, the Rauhnächte begin on 21 December - winter solstice, the longest night of the year. And the darkest, before the light returns! Your journal - which you can download and print or fill in online - gives you prompts for those 12 days of Christmas, each standing for a month of the coming year, from 25 December til 5 January. On the sixth, it's all over...what will you have dreamt, written, meditated and manifested into being for 2024?
